How to Learn anything!

This is  an awesome TED talk. I have always loved the Malcolm Gladwell book 'Outliers'. where he talks about stories of success.

Listen to how Joshua Kaufman disperses with the myth that it takes 10 000 hours to be an expert in anything.

Learn how to learn anything with 20 hours of practice!

Problem Solving

Problem Solving

I have been thinking about how to incorporate more problem solving into my every day lessons.
All life is problem solving," according to one of the most esteemed philosophers of science of the 20th century, Karl Popper.

John Marsh at The Educator’s PLN wrote a particularly useful breakdown of some effective problem solving strategies to use in Maths. John makes the following points 1. Understand the problem, 2. Make a Plan, 3. Break the problem down and 4. Work backwards.

John Marsh writes in his blogpost Strategies to build confidence in Maths that we should
1. Do Maths Daily and
5. Employ a checking strategy.

Bishopp Knight writes for CNN There's More Than One Way To Solve a Problem … and suggests keeping an open mindset to more solutions.
